Museum - La Chimera

A three-headed monster, concurrently snake, goat, and lion, capable of spitting fire, the Chimera is generally portrayed as a lion with a goat's head and a tail in the shape of a snake.
The famous bronze from Arezzo, originally a votive offering to the god, Tinia, depicts the animal in a position of defense, already wounded by Perseus’ weapons, the Greek hero who will declare its death. The Chimera dates back to the fourth century B.C. and attributed to Etruscan origin.
