Museum - Tondo Pitti

Marble bas-relief (85x82 cm) by Michelangelo Buonarroti, depicting the Madonna and Child with the Young Saint John, executed between 1503 and 1504 ca. kept in the National Museum of the Bargello in Florence.
The round goes back to the years when Michelangelo was carving the David, finding the time to devote himself to some profitable private commission, created this work for Bartolomeo Pitti.
In 1823 it was bought by the Florentine galleries for two hundred targets, the Curiosity Shop Fedele Steels. Placed in the Uffizi, was destined finally to the newly established Museum of the Bargello in 1873.
