Rooms with a View. Aby Warburg, Florence and the Laboratory of Images is the catalogue of the exhibition held at the Uffizi Galleries in Florence and curated by Costanza Caraffa, Marzia Faietti, Eike D. Schmidt, Bill Sherman, Giovanna Targia, Claudia Wedepohl and Gerhard Wolf with the scientific coordination of Katia Mazzucco and the assistance of Lunarita Sterpetti. The exhibition, promoted by the Uffizi Galleries and the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz, Max-Planck-Institut in collaboration with the Warburg Institute in London, proposes a dialogue between the works in the Uffizi, some interventions by contemporary artists and a selection of plates from the Mnemosyne Atlas – the scholar’s last major project -, two of which are reconstructed for the first time on this occasion. Place, media and image, the three key notions of the exhibition, are also the titles of the three chapters along which the numerous contributions in the catalogue are arranged, aimed at broadening the horizon of the exhibition and rethinking the relationship between Warburg and Florence by combining historical analyses and contemporary reflections.
