\nThe original is located in the Sagrestia Nuova, inside the Museo delle Cappelle Medicee.<\/p>\n
Dusk is one of the statues that form part of the funerary complex of the New Sacristy, inside the Medici Chapels, designed and sculpted by Michelangelo between 1520 and 1533. Together with Dawn, its counterpart, it rests upon the tomb of Lorenzo Duke of Urbino. Dusk is represented as a man about to lie down for the night, his legs crossed and one arm stretched across his thigh in the act of holding a veil. Together with the other three statues in the New Sacristy \u2013 Dawn, Day and Night \u2013 it represents one of Michelangelo\u2019s Allegories of Time.
