GUIDO FERRONI (1888-1979) L’ANTICO SENTIMENTO DELLA PITTURA

22,00

This is an important catalogue of the first exhibition entirely dedicated to the painter Guido Ferroni (Siena 1888 – Florence 1979) on display for the Uffizi Galleries in the Sala del Fiorino of the Modern Art Gallery in Palazzo Pitti.
The volume includes essays by important scholars (Marco Fagioli, a great connoisseur and acute interpreter of 20th-century art; Emanuele Greco and Francesca Petrucci on his professional growth and human life; Simonella Condemi on the relationship between the painter and the presence of his works in the collections of the Uffizi Galleries) and the direct testimony of Ferroni’s grandson Duccio, who has made accessible to scholars all the documentation still belonging to the painter’s family – works of art, drawings, objects and photographs – to understand and shed light on various aspects of his grandfather Guido’s private life, professional ethics and aesthetic choices.
Furthermore, the richly illustrated catalogue analyses the 41 works on display in the exhibition, including an important corpus of drawings conserved at Uffizi Gabinetto Disegni e Stampe (GDSU) in Florence.
