A MISURA DI BAMBINO. CRESCERE NELL’ANTICA ROMA

25,00

The exhibition and its catalogue aim to present to the public the world of children in antiquity by illustrating their everyday life and their role in the social, cultural, economic, and cultic dynamics of ancient Rome’s republican and imperial society.
Through statues, reliefs, sarcophagi, urns and inscriptions, visitors are offered a new interpretation and an original narrative cut of the existence of children in the period of life from birth to adulthood, fixed between about twelve and sixteen years.
The exhibition is divided into parallel guided tours for the visit of children and teenagers.
The catalogue, richly illustrated, with texts by archaeologists, historians and anthropologists, proposes and deepens the sections of the exhibition presenting some aspects of absolute novelty, such as the themes of disability and childhood fears, as they were addressed in antiquity.
