L’ARTE INCONTRA I GIOVANI 1970-2020. COMUNICARE IL PATRIMONIO ALLE GALLERIE DEGLI UFFIZI

Volume dedicated to the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Education Department of the Uffizi Galleries.

The idea of a Didactic Section, as it was called in its early years, within an Italian museum came to Maria Fossi Todorow functionary of the Department of Drawings and Prints of the Uffizi. Todorow, open to new teaching methods thanks to its trips abroad, wanted to create a specialized center for museum teaching in the Uffizi Gallery where to think, create and implement educational methods and techniques to bring all citizens closer to the Florentine artistic heritage to ensure that everyone preserved and appreciated it as belonging to each of us.

The volume edited by Lucia Mascalchi is accompanied by a rich array of historical and contemporary photos, historical documents and testimonies that attest to the rich period of activity of this Department so alive and forge of large projects.
